Tier 1 Supports

Tier 1: School-Wide Support

Tier 1 is the foundation of our Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) system at Washington Middle School. This school-wide support system is designed to proactively teach and reinforce positive behavior for all students.

Our Tier 1 Committee is a collaborative team that includes the principal, assistant principal, teachers, counselors, support staff, parents, students, and community stakeholders. Together, we work to ensure that every student receives consistent guidance and support to meet our core behavior expectations:

Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Respectful.

At the Tier 1 level, we are able to effectively teach and model appropriate behavior throughout the school environment. We use data-driven decision-making to monitor the effectiveness of our practices, identify areas for improvement, and respond to the needs of our school community. This approach allows us to build a positive school climate where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
